ABOUT NATIONAL CERTIFICATION DIVISION

INTRODUCTION

Rwanda Standards Board is a certification body that provides,  products,  management systems and certification of Persons.

To ensure compliance with the applicable international requirements, Rwanda Standards Board’s management systems comply with ISO 17021 on the requirements for bodies providing Audit and certification of management systems, ISO 17065 on the requirements for bodies providing products certification and ISO 17024 on the general requirements for bodies operating certification of persons.

1. CERTIFICATION

               

1.1.  What is certification?

Certification is a third-party attestation following assessment that attributes, characteristics, quality, or status of individuals or organizations, goods or services, procedures or processes are in accordance with established standards.     
The aim of certifying is to give confidence to all interested parties that (certified) individuals or organizations, goods or services, procedures or processes fulfil specified requirements.

1.2 Benefits of certification

Certification:

  • is a strong marketing tool hence promoting businesses.

  • reduces production/service costs through increased efficiency
