Ambassador of the State of Israel Makes Courtesy Call to Rwanda Standards Board


H.E the Ambassador visited the Materials Testing Laboratory

Today, December 17th, 2019, H.E Ron Adam Ambassador of the State of Israel to Rwanda made a Courtesy Call to Rwanda Standards Board. The aim of this call was to learn about standardization services in Rwanda.



During this Call, Mr Rymond Murenzi Director General of Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) introduced to H.E the Ambassador standardization services in Rwanda and the role of Rwanda Standards Board in promoting standardization at regional and international levels. He noted that since the creation of Rwanda Bureau of Standards in 2002 and then Rwanda Standards Board (RSB), Rwanda has been putting remarkable effort in ensuring standardization services are promoted and play key role in the socio-economic development of the country. In this regard, besides developing national standards, the country participates in standards setting activities at regional and international level.




Also, conformity assessment and Metrology facilities including certification schemes and quality testing and Metrology laboratories have acquired international accreditation allowing market actors to trust the services offered by RSB and consequently easing market access for Made in Rwanda products.

After an overview of the standardization services, H.E Ron Adam visited quality testing laboratories including Food, Agriculture and Mycotoxin laboratory, Materials Testing Laboratory and Metrology laboratories. The Ambassador appreciated the progress registered in standardization as an enabling factor to sustainable development of the country.
