Director General of TBS, with RSB Senior Management visiting the Materials Testing Laboratory

On 25th May, 2017, following his participation in the East African Community (EAC) Manufacturing Business Summit and Exhibition held in kigali, Prof Egid B. Mubofu, Ag. Director General of Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) paid courtesy visit to Rwanda Standards Board (RSB).

Upon his arrival to RSB, Prof. Egid B. Mupofu was cordially received by Mr. Raymond Murenzi, Director General and Management team:

“We are with pleasure to welcome you at Rwanda Standards Board. Rwanda, and RSB in particular, appreciates joint efforts of Standards Bodies in the region to ensure cross-border trade is facilitated and trading of quality and safe goods.  We are grateful to the role Tanzania Bureau of Standards has been playing to support EAC economic integration through harmonization of standards and removal of Technical Barriers to Trade. Our collaboration has been of paramount importance to ensure trading of standards compliant products, and learning from each other has enabled tremendous standardization achievements in the East African Community member countries. We promise a visit to TBS to even strengthen our collaboration.” noted the Director General of Rwanda Standards Board.


Before a farewell note

In his remarks, and at the end of a tour of quality testing and Metrology laboratories, Director General of Tanzania Bureau of Standards appreciated warm welcome accorded by his counterpart and RSB, and emphasized: “ It is fascinating what achievements has Rwanda Standards Board registered  in establishing quality infrastructures in only 15 years of existence. Please keep it up. The presence of such equipment eases conformity assessment in the region and helps fast-track doing business! We keep our good collaboration to facilitate trade.”
