Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry Visits Rwanda Standards Board

Dr. Emile Bienvenu, RSB Board of Directors Chairman delivers welcome remarks

Today, November 8th, 2018, Honourable Soraya Hakuziyaremye, Minister of Trade and Industry , accompanied by officials at the Ministry has paid visit to Rwanda Standards Board (RSB). 

The Minister has been welcomed by RSB Board of Directors and Management. In his welcome remarks, the Board of Directors Chairman, Dr. Emile Bienvenu, expressed his gratitude to the visit and explained it as an opportunity to share achievements registered in standardization and acquire advice for continual improvement towards achieving mission of the institution to provide standards based solutions for Consumer Protection and Trade promotion for socio-economic growth in a safe and stable environment.

Mr. Raymond Murenzi, Director General, presented to Hon. Minister the overview update on standardization services offered by RSB namely progress in standards development, conformity assessment (testing for quality and safety, certification, quality assurance) and Metrology; and the role played by those services in promotion of trade and industries as well as other various sectors.

At the end of her visit, Honourable Minister of Trade and Industry commended standardization work being done and pledged support to go even further to enhance standardization role in promotion of trade, industry growth and ensure competitiveness of Made in Rwanda products.
