Mr. Antoine Mukunzi at official opening of the training
In his opening remarks, Mr. Antoine Mukunzi the RSB National Quality Testing Division Manager informed that it is important for laboratory analysts to be aware of the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories as they are an integral part in conformity assessment, research, education and service provision.
The training comes as technical assistance in preparation of the Laboratory Designation activity that is to be conducted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry in conformance to the East African Community Standardization, Quality Assurance, Metrology and Testing (SQMT) Act 2006, especially in its Article which stipulates that Partner States may establish or designate Organization to function as Testing Laboratories to provide scientific and technical services to perform conformity assessment services for technical regulation or compulsory standards.
