RSB Increases the Testing Scope for Pesticides Residues

Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) is pleased to inform its esteemed customers and the general public that RSB National Quality Testing Laboratory has increased the scope of testing pesticide residues to 180 pesticides compounds now tested. The tests are performed according to international method (EN 15662:2018).

The laboratory current scope covers conducting pesticides residues tests in:

Apple fruit, Stone fruit and other fruits, Alliums, Fruiting vegetables/cucurbits, Brassica vegetables, Leafy vegetables and fresh herbs, Stem and stalk vegetables, Fresh legume vegetables, Fresh Fungi, Root and tuber vegetables, Citrus fruit, Small fruit and berries, Honey, dried fruit, Tree nuts, Oil seeds, Pastes of tree nuts and oil seeds, Oily fruits and products, Dry legume vegetables/pulses, Cereal grain and products thereof and animal feed.

Increasing the testing scope for pesticides residues is an important step to protecting consumers form unsafe food, ensuring the market is supplied with quality and safe food and to support made in Rwanda products easy and trusted access to regional and international markets.
