RSB Management Visited CIMERWA Musanze Plant

On 15th July 2026, the team from Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) Top Management, led by the Director General, Mr. Murenzi Raymond visited the CIMERWA Musanze Plant. The purpose of the visit was to gain on-site understanding of the plant's operations, assess the relevance of the standardization, metrology and conformity assessment services to the plant’s work and identify any challenges requiring RSB's attention and support.

Discussions on plant operations and relevancy of RSB services

During the visit, the Director General and the delegation commended CIMERWA Plc for its operational performance and the strong collaborative relationship maintained with RSB. On behalf of CIMERWA Plc, the Musanze Plant Head expressed appreciation to the RSB Director General and the entire RSB team for their continued support and cooperation. He also highlighted a key challenge regarding the calibration of certain specialized equipment, noting that the plant recently acquired some equipment that needed special calibration services currently unavailable in the country and, in some cases, difficult to access even within the region.

In response to that issue, the Director General informed CIMERWA team that the Government was in the process of upgrading the RSB calibration laboratory to accommodate market emerging needs. He emphasized that, upon completion of the upgrade, RSB will be able to provide most of the specialized calibration and testing services that are currently unavailable, thereby offering greater support to industries such as CIMERWA Plc.
