Rwanda Management Institute Gets Training on ISO 9001-Quality Management System International Standard



Today, Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) has started three days Quality Management System (QMS) training to Rwanda Management Institute (RMI).

Within the framework of RSB Action plan 2017-2018 to assist private and public institutions to achieve system certification as per ISO 9001, and following the request by RMI, RSB is conducting three day training on Quality Management System as per, ISO 9001:2015 International Standard from 10th to 12th July 2017.

RMI is among the first public institutions to be trained on the said standards and according to the Director General Mr.  Wellars GASAMAGERA, the institution endeavors to be ISO 9001 certified by the end of the year 2018. In his opening remarks, the Director General noted that the institution’s desire to get certification against QMS aims not only to improve its services but also to inspire trust in their customers/ clients and to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the services delivered.

RMI has received awareness training for Top Management and is now undertaking an implementation course to initiate implementation of the standard. As quality is not an end but a journey, this journey will be done in collaboration with RSB through providing other courses such internal auditing and documentation to enable a fully implementable and maintained system.

The three day training will focus on quality management systems principles and vocabulary related to quality management systems as well as requirements of the quality management systems.

This training sees participation of RMI senior Management members and other staff members.
