The World Standards Day Video Competition is Back-Join to Win the Prize!

The World Standards Day Video Competition is Back. Join to Win the Prize!

The World Standards Day video competition, organized by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is back! This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of standards while having fun.

We encourage you to share this information with your national stakeholders.
We also invite you to share this widely within your own network as all of you can also participate in the competition!

Here are just some ideas of how you can spread the word:

  • Use your social media channels if you have them, it’s a social media competition
  • Emphasize that there are prizes to be won (first prize is CHF 1500!) that is always a great motivator J
  • Tell your friends, colleagues, family about this competition.
  • Share this information in newsletters and magazines.
  • Target universities and schools (though it’s not just for young people).
  • Last year China organized a national competition using exactly the same rules as ours, they then invited the people who participated in their competition to join ours (we had many entries from China!)
  • Iran also did a great job by going to schools and telling students about the competition.

And of course there are many more successful stories of engagement. Last year’s winners came from Mexico, Armenia and Thailand, maybe one of this year’s winners will come from your country!

Enter the 2016 #speakstandards video competition!
For the 2016 #speakstandards video competition imagine a world without international standards to demonstrate how difficult life would be without trusted standards for quality, safety, compatibility and more.
To participate think of an example of something that would not work or would be less trustworthy in a world without international standards, and capture it in a 15-second video. The creator of the winning video will be awarded a cash prize of 1,500 Swiss francs, and the contest’s three runners-up will each receive a prize of 500 Swiss francs.
