About Zamukana Ubuziranenge (ZU) Programme

Zamukana Ubuziranenge (ZU) Program was established under Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) to provide technical assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the aim enabling them to comply with the requirements of applicable standards. The program aims to improve the quality and competitiveness of made in Rwanda products, enabling access to national, regional and international markets and building the quality culture within the business community.

Animal feeds

1. Overview

Animal feeds production value chain still under growing phase, categorized in large number of informal local processors around the country for own animal feeding in their farms and slightly commercialized. 

The instability of animal feed nutritional composition, refer to the feeding type of animal were observed. Lack of adequate knowledge in the animal feeding sector has an impact on the productivity of the animal and later on the quality and safety of the final derived animal products as source of human food.

In this regards, Animal feeds value chain require core assistance to improve the current status and accompany MSMEs to compliance of standards, regulations and be competitive and access to global market.
